Luca Proietti is a lawyer passionate about many things, most notably music, soccer, and its miniature counterpart, Subbuteo. So, aided by the painting of a Subbuteo team and the 2020 pandemic, his mind wanders to the 1994 World Cup match between Italy and Nigeria (which took place on July 5th, his sixteenth birthday) and to the crystal-clear talent of Roberto Baggio. Thus begins a story that bounces between 1994 and 2020, between the dreams of a young boy yet to be defined and the indecision of a man whose life is accelerating again when a client appears out of nowhere and asks him to save him from prison. A soccer match as a metaphor for life from which a thousand other stories unfold. On the one hand, there's a story about sport; on the other, there's the protagonist's life and a mystery that will only be resolved in the final pages.
