Replica trophy of the 1901-1903 Italian championship cup (Fawcus cup)

The Fawcus Cup was the trophy awarded to the champion Italian football team between 1901 and 1904 .

The cup was donated to the Italian Football Federation (FIF) by Genoa president George Fawcus. According to the rules, the tournament winner earned the right to retain the trophy until the next final; however, it was stipulated that if a club held it for three consecutive years or five overall, it would win it outright.

The first team to win the cup was AC Milan, champions of Italy in 1901. However, the Rossoneri had to return it to the Genoa Rossoblu the following year, when they were defeated in the final. Having won the trophy, the Grifone never relinquished it, as by winning the next two championships, they retained the cup as permanent property, as per the rules. A new award, the Spensley Cup, was introduced.

The cup is kept in the Genoa Museum Store.
