The Mediterranean Cup was a cup reserved for the national or second-team teams of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, such as Italy, Egypt, Greece, and Turkey, which were the four participants in the first two editions (Italy played with its second-team team), and in the final edition Spainand France were added (both with their second-team teams). The first edition, the only one with a fixed venue, Athens, was played in 1949, lasted less than a month, and was won by Italy B. The second edition lasted three years, from 1950 to 1953, and was won again by Italy B. The third and final edition lasted five years, from 1953 to 1958, and was won by Spain B.
